E-toll collection unaffected by bio-attack scare: Sanral

So what was the powder? And was there any sensible reason why it would be in an envelope :erm: other than someone must have opened a grampa and forgot their drink and needed somewhere to hold the powder.

It was just my dandruff which must have fallen in the envelope while I was shaking my head about the unjustified E-toll bill.

Isn't it obvious? Drug dealers are paying their etrolling fees by posting a bit of their product to SCAMRAL. Drug dealers know that SCAMRAL employees are potential/existing customers and will need their fix sooner rather than later.

The only problem is when the employees start fighting over an envelope of "fix me up" and Woosy Moaner walks in just as the envelope shreds and the product spreads everywhere.

“Response management has been optimised and we can confirm that the substance has been tested and it has been concluded that it is not harmful,” ETC CEO Jamie Surkont said.

Then why are we calling it a bio-attack scare, SAPA?

E-tolls unaffected by powder scare: Sanral

E-toll collection remained unaffected by an anthrax scare, while white powder found in the postbox at Sanral’s offices was determined be not dangerous.

Maybe for now, it's still early days.

I'm starting to relate to this phenomenon called "terrorism".

When there is something unjust in the world, the extremist element of society that will take extreme measures to inflict harm on the perpetrators.

Whoever you are, keep up the good work, and while you at it, those gantries are an eye sore, just saying :)

To add to that:
The steel must be worth quite a bit
The cameras are high-speed, high-definition. Not cheap I guess?
Those lights will give any backyard a very seriously cool look...
There must be copper somewhere on those gantries?

If someone burns the etrolling invoices they receive in the post, and posts the ashes to SCAMRAL, would that be considered to be a "bio-attack"?

It is sad that those against etolls are resorting to terrorist tactics.

Haven't seen any terrorist tactics yet, someone's coke in a packet doesn't qualify.

Maybe once someone fires a RPG at a gantry, or burns one down with thermite that would qualify.

My theory:
The white powder was Omo washing powder belonging to the SANRAL spin-doctors having to wash their pants each time Vusi opens his mouth.

What's the difference between someone phoning in with a bomb threat and mailing a letter with white powder? Either way, the building has to be evacuated, I would call that terrorism, ie; terrorising SANRAL.

Keep up the good work whoever you are, maybe while you at it, send some to all the toll booths nationally.

I say down with toll roads in general, the only reason we have them is because government can't budget properly and ring fence the funds from fuel levies, license fees etc which is meant for building and maintaining our roads, instead, they bribe the constituency with grants and stuff, breeding a culture of give me give me, and creating a welfare state. Fast forward into the future, where do we end up?

Makes me mad!

Services centers down as a result of yesterday's scare. What if today is day number 7 for motorists and they can't pay because of SANRAL's systems being down? Are they going to lose the "pay within 7 days" discount?
