The only difference is that the E5577 has a display and two buttons. Not really worth the extra few hundred rand.

(I see it's the HUAWEI E5577FS-932 and it has a 1500mah battery. )

Seems like they are both cat4 routers so either should be fine. Just check that you have bands 1800, 2100 and 2300 and you should be solid for Telkom. I've seen the e5576 go down to R400 usually costing R600.

If going for the e5576 go for the e5576-606 model as it has the bands.

Geewiz currently has the E5576 for R545. I thought that it was selling for R495 a week or so ago. You would have to check with them regarding the model number. I would wait until Black Friday to see whether they will reduce the price any further or if there are any specials from another company.

They said the model number is E5576S+ unbranded. I googled it and it looks like it supports B40 (and has a 3000mah battery!)

So I ordered one and added a sonoff basic switch to get free shipping. The sonoff is on back order, so it will take like 2 weeks before I receive it. I'll keep you posted.

@nicroets: Good to hear! I hope that you got the R491 Black Friday Price!

I have been very impressed with Geewiz recently - I bought some Netac 64GB flash drives for R68 as well as some Sony CycleEnergy Rechargeable NiMH AA batteries for R32 per pair. I regret that I didn't buy any more of the batteries at that price as they seem to be sold out now. They had both of my orders ready within a few hours.

I received it today from Geewiz. It supports 2300 MHz (B40) and you can even manually select the band. It only has a 1.5 Ah battery.

But it isn't made by Huawei! Just a good copy made by HWD, whoever that may be. I still think it's a good deal for this price.
