Someone slap me with a clue banana...

It worked once, and all was bliss.
... about a month ago I started getting an Authentication Failed error.

Called customer/tech support and was told to re-install the F@stlink software.
Thats when the error changed to Connection Failed and everything went downhill.

Around this point in time, my sisters card/sim worked on my laptop, her sim worked in my card, my sim didn't work in her card.

So customer/tech support suggested a sim swap, waited 48 hours... Connection Failed.

I've spent a fair amount of time talking to support weasels over the last month now, and I'm no closer to a solution.

Our last attempt was to delete/remove my number from the MTN network and recreate everything from scratch. Sweet.

Now my datacard/sim, she still no work in my laptop.
She does work in my sisters laptop, my sisters datacard, she no work in my laptop.

WTF ?

I've removed my av software.
I've disabled the windoze firewall.
I've disabled my vpn client from starting up.

I don't think it's a TCP/IP problem cause networking is fine at werk.

Modem Diagnostics seems fine.
The only clue I can find is that if I dial directly through Network Connections / MTN F@stlink, I get a TCP/IP reported error 2: The system cannot find the file specified.

Suggestions ?

Try the steps specified in this Microsoft Knowledge Base article KB165846.

TCP/IP error update

So I tested someone elses Globe trotter card in my laptop...

And it works and connects fine.
And when I manually dial up with the modem from withing My Netwok Places, ...I get the TCP/IP error ?

My card however still does not work in my laptop... at least it's working in any other laptop...

Really Stumped.

...you could at least have put a smiley up with that comment.

I'd rather eat a vomelet than re-install windows, if it really does come to that, Ubuntu here I come.

Tanks anyway.
