Hey Guys...

Im sitting with a slight problem..
I can upgrade my contract RIGHT now.
My SP is Nashua.
They say that the CANT get me this phone, and they dont know IF and WHEN they could get it. They tell me that there is a worldwide shortage and it could be months. They also suggest that I get the N95.

BUT I WANT THE E90. What to do now?
Does any of you guys have it? Do you KNOW of service providers with stock?

Please give me some advice.
Thanx fellow forum users.

Will you consider the HTC TyTN 2? It's a competent alternative to the E90 (unless you only want Nokia and Symbian).

I'm on my second E90 after the first one gave me problems early-on (replaced within first 7 days by MTN). I've had the second unit for some time now and haven't had any problems. The E90 is an awesome device worth waiting for if you can.

I just got rid of my E90. It's a useless buggy brick.

Tytn II for me.

... and there has never been any defective HTC devices? I'm sure there are people around that will tell you some horror stories from that side too. And I guess that is normal for just about anything created by mankind.

I also got a bad one, but I took it back to MTN and they acknowledged the problem(s) and replaced it with a brand new one ... that has not given me any problems since. To date I'm a happy E90 owner/user. If/when a small (but very vocal) minority of people is experiencing problems it's not fair to call the product "a useless buggy brick".

Um... there is a LARGE group, not a small group. Nokia even admitted to the MANY faults, hence a redesign of the first version. Even with the latest firmware it's still buggy, GPS find's still take ages, the phone still randomly reboots, messaging still takes forever. Calls are still dropped.

BTW. I've had a Tytn I, and an E90, there's obviously a reason I'm going back to an HTC over a useless brick.

LARGE? How large is large? If I sell 100 items and 5 comes back defective is it large? Would 25 returns be large? MANY is also relative.

Nokia is decent enough to acknowledge that there has been problems and they are working on it. What would most other manufactures have done ... just pump out more and more new models to cover the problems?

I do acknowledge that Nokia probably had more problems with the E90 relative to their other recent products ... but is it still worse than the norm for other brands out there? Nokia has a fantastic track record so it will be judged harsher for it. What is bad for Nokia is standard for others I guess.

... and what if you are the lucky recipient of a defective TyTN II ... that can happen with any product? Will HTC then be treated with the same disgust?

E90 is a fantastic phone from what i have seen, played on one the other day & its owner didnt have anything bad to say about it. I have read on the net there are many faults with it though, which nokia seem to be sorting out. Im going to wait a few months before i get mine, hopefully by then some of these bugs xrapidx is talking about will be ironed out. But for now my 9300i still works like a charm.

99/100 would be LARGE yes, but you can't substantiate such absurd claim ... even with the help of Shabir Shake.

I never tried to compare the TyTN II to E90 so those Googlefights have no relevance to my argument. I believe the TyTN II to be a good product and I recommended the original poster consider it. What I'm trying to show you is that it is unfair to trash the E90 as a whole when you are unhappy with it. I do not for one moment believe the majority of E90 owners are unhappy ... not even close.

I can trash the E90 as a whole because thats what it is, Nokia wouldn't have redesigned it, and fixed many of its flaws if it was a good phone, version one of the phone is a nightmare, hence the release of a second design. South Africa doesn't have the 2nd design, yet.

I hope you tossed your trash E90 in the bin then and not sold it to some unsuspecting victim. Maybe it's your ex-E90 doing the rounds, going from one victim to the next, thus creating the impression that there are many faulty E90's in circulation :)

Sheez Guys...

Time out boys!!!

Jislaaik!
Ok, so I am aware of the fact that there are E90 issues. Believe me, ive been reading up on this phone since way before its release. I know that there is a slight chance that I could be getting a dud - and im willing to take that chance.

Does the tytn 2 have hsdpa?

I know that having Nashua as SP, is prolly my first mistake...but its hard getting rid of an Service Provider, without losing out big time.

So far, ive only had 1 answer as to where I can get the phone: "voda"
does voda mean vodashop, vodacom, or what SP specifically?

Thanx guys.
ps: take a chill pill - you guys are arguing over stoopid stuff.
