Also you can't lay all the cables at once with the same ship because they are going in completely different directions

They can easily. The problem comes with tension issues and the back of the ship not being equipped for multiple cables at once.

Besides, I want the cables to be laid separately. More chance of getting one that is managed by someone competent and actually completed.
