  • Customers who hold FNB investment accounts could bank for free by earning up to 100% of their monthly Fusion or Cheque account fees back in eBucks, depending on their reward level and minimum balance.

How do you get this?

Haven't gotten the notification on the portal, but got the email saying you now need a bank account for ebucks. Dischem and Makro were the only reason I had it but have almost never gotten anything back from Makro in any case. So today spend the 9136 at Checkers on groceries as I'm not going to pay to keep it open from now on.

Was inevitable. There will be more restrictions and less earning potential now that the banks had to write off those billions in loans. I see the end of ebucks as we know it.

All banks reward systems ultimately become a battle between customer experience and the number crunchers, number crunchers know nothing about customer experience and stickiness and don’t value it because it is hard to put an ROI on. So they gradually erode the value, because they think they are giving away free money, and don’t understand the impact on customer retention. At a point the erosion means the reward system has no tangible benefit for the consumer. eBucks used to be a differentiator for FNB, but it’s rapidly becoming another meaningless bullet point.
