Checking at my points, I get 250 of a max 1200.

But I can't see what the actual rules are to gain points this way?
Does anyone know how they measure this?

It is on the FNB website here: https://www.fnb.co.za/rewards/earn/fnb-cheque-accounts-qualifying-criteria.html

R250.00 - R999.99 --> 100 points
R1 000.00 - R2 499.99 --> 150 points
R2 500.00 - R4 999.99 --> 200 points
R5 000.00 - R9 999.99 --> 250 points
R10 000.00 - R14 999.99 --> 300 points
R15 000.00 - R19 999.99 --> 450 points
R20 000.00 - R29 999.99 --> 600 points
R30 000.00 - R49 999.99 --> 900 points
R50 000.00+ --> 1200 points

The idea is, not to earn points this way. Earn your points with the other things you do, much much easier. Spending should be targeted at earning ebucks back, so spend money @Checkers, @pre-paid airtime, @fuel ect.

Oh thanks - missed that.

So it's actually value on not number of times used, hmmm. I need another 1700 just to get to reward level 4 - but it almost seems impossible. I can see 300 for smart device insurance and 300 for savings pocket, which seem realistic.

I get 10 % back in ebucks when I purchase fuel, so effectively you get 1 % back in terms of monetary value. R5000 fuel for the month means I get 500 ebucks to spend as I choose.

Easy wins are the smart devices, roadside assistance, savings pocket, bank account for your kid if you have one (fluid account), emailed statements, not using the branch for banking, draw more cash at tills than at atm, use your card to buy online (i pay my telkom line online).

That should almost get you to level 5 right there :)

Doesn't work like that.

I'm on 2.5% fuel earn rate and I get 2.5% of the spend back in ebucks. Eg. If I spent r1000 I get back 250 ebucks.

This is what I need to do, apparently :

You needed 1700 more points to get to the next Reward Level.

Here's what you could have done.

Having an active Savings Pocket with a minimum balance of R2 000 and Bank Your Change facility 300
Having an insurance product like Optional Debt Protection, Smart Device Insurance and Roadside Assistance 300
Having an active Fluid Account or having an active Fluid Account linked to your FNB Cheque Account 100
Using your FNB Cheque Account to shop online 100
The value of your monthly Cash@Till withdrawals exceeding the value of your monthly ATM withdrawals

I notice I get for a Smartdevice that was paid up about 6 months ago actually ;)
