Getting EDGE only in Melrose Arch again. Restarted my router a couple of times, but no luck.

Anyone else having issues?

Can someone from Cell C advise whether there's a problem on the tower and when it will be resolved, please?

Thanks.

What modem do you have, and is it in '3G/WCDMA Only' mode?

It's a Vodafone R201. I haven't changed any of the settings on it. This has happened twice before, where my 3G access dissapears for a couple of hours and then just comes back. It's not set to 3G only mode though, no. I tried to change that setting but it wouldn't allow me to apply the change.

Definitely worth trying to set it to 3G only. Does it have a USB port, and can you access it as a normal 3G modem?

Yep, that's it. It does have a USB interface, but when you connect it via USB, it says that the SIM card is not supported. I can get onto the maintenance page for it via my web browser, but I can't change that setting. It won't allow me to click OK.

It works most of the time though, just sometimes that the signal drops for a while and I only get EDGE. Normally comes right after a while, but I just wanted to follow up and find out if there's a problem on the network.

What does? The Vodafone dashboard?
Borrow someone's Vodacom SIM card and try set it to 3G only using their dashboard, or try MDMA. I haven't tested it with an R201 yet, but it may just work.

Yep, when you plug it in via USB, it loads up an interface similar to the USB stick, but that says that the SIM card is not recognised. It works though and I normally don't have issues. This just happens every now and again.
