The Economic Freedom Fighters Students Command (EFFSC) has vowed to take to the streets if the government does not meet its demand for fee-free registration at universities.

The organisation believes that charging registration fees excludes many students.

EFF Students Command national president, Peter Keetse, explained that many students were accepted at higher education institutions but they did not study their chosen course because they could not afford the registration fees.

At this stage I think it would be simpler & easier for them to just provide us a list of what they are willing to pay for, if anything at all...

Free free free. Demand demand demand.

Once the gravy train gets derailed by reality they just turn to bribery because its harder to get "free" and "demand" in the business world and imagine the shock and horror of actually having to work hard for a living when we all know BMW's just fall out the sky...

You give in to this demand, next month they come with another one. Tell them to go play in traffic, and if they start protesting use live ammo. That should sort this problem out quickly.

Although we know the above will never happen as this country and it's institutions are run by wussies.

But students who qualify for University don't have to pay the registration fee it is covered by the NSFAS (If they qualify).

I am not sure what the EFF are meaning by the students having to pay?

I don't get trying to solve one stupid problem by creating another. Live ammo, for protesters? Really? Deal with them yes. Tear gas, arrests, water cannon, rubber bullets....but mass slaughter?

Ok, that might have been a bit over the top. But it really seems like everyone just keep giving in to every bloody demand.

I agree with you on that front 100%. Really I do. I have zero sympathy for these free-loading trolls who in all likelihood are going to waste their free ride (paid for by you and I the tax payer) by failing/dropping-out anyway.

But I think one just has to keep perspective. Yes, I think these protesting buggers are savages, but its a slippery slope to wish live ammo on them. One day, when there is a protest for the right reason (like the one to remove the previous president, which was peaceful by the way, so in that way different from the savages) live ammo becomes the norm.

Means tested funding to provide access to further education is essential to the future of South Africa and must be one of governments top priorities.

Sadly, they have looted so much it is now a pipe dream and a quarter of a century of sitting on their thumbs has resulted in the loss of thousands of educated people paying higher taxes today.

The returns would be there by now. But instead we have to witness more chaos and destruction and the loss of another generation of lower income people missing out and yet still vote for the people ripping prosperity from their grasp.

No wonder the EFF is on the rise.

Marxism / Socialism is on the rise globally, and will be more so here due to the high numbers of uneducated and poor.
I don’t know about globally, but with so many uneducated, poor and homeless South Africans, it’s definitely on the increase. And as I say, who can blame people with fsck all falling in behind an organisation that promises land and jobs?

The ANC have completely messed things up. If they’d cared for the people instead of themselves, this would not be happening because real change would now be evident if they’d introduced these policies in the 90s.
