Zimbabweans is a problem.

Some say they want to work. Well yes if you come from a situation where there is nothing left for you you are willing to work any type of job for any salary and that is the problem. Business owners know this. A Zimbo will work for any rate no matter the type of work and that creates an enviroment where exploitation can take place.

Personally I think the only reason why Zimbabwe didn't completely collapse is because of South Africa. We suppy their citizens with work in SA and they take that money back home and that sustains their economy. It's not fait to South Africans with an almost 30% unemployment rate.

Zim is not the problem. The problem is due to the ANC open-border approach, as initially implemented by saint nelson M... They allow the unskilled in, but don't have a fkkin clue as to what to do with them ..

Actually they are well within their rights to see the amount of foreigners hired, because well you need a permit and just through a lot of hoops to hire a foreigner.

The foreigner needs a work permit. In order for this they need to prove that they have extraordinary skills which isnt easy to find in South Africa. I know of people with PHd and Master Degrees thats been turned away or been waiting upto 2 years or more to get a work permit to come to South Africa (The government has tightened the screws majorly.

Pretty much this....

• A letter from your employer confirming your current and permanent employment, which is not older than six months.
• Proof of qualifications evaluated by the South African Qualification Authority.
• Work references or certificates of service (covering at least the last five years).

And then there is a lot extra..

Now as off the past 4 years, you have to travel to the SA Embassy or Mission in your home country to apply for this permit, you cant simply cross the border and apply for it. It's a big NO NO with home affairs. There are many things they dont allow you to do anymore, and you have to go to VFS global. So my friends thats here as foreigners every 2 years fly back home and put in about 2-4 weeks of leave to get their permits renewed, and if they have kids...they must all go back. So it can be costly. This is as per home affairs.

And you cant blame home affairs, some other people are pretty strict with the qualifications etc too.

And even if youre married to a South Africa, now you have to do the same. Husband or wife can stay but you have to leave to renew your permit. Costly but thats how it is. Sucks

So with all this red tape, you have to wonder how the people from Nigeria, Congo, Zim, etc etc just walk into the country and apply for a job to work.

Well if you are a refugee you may be entitled to, but in this case if Zimbabweans, well your easy get into SA permit has expired. You have 1 year then it falls away completely, and you have to follow the same process like absolutely everyone else.

2. Do what youre doing at the hospitals. Even though a kid is born here, it doesnt make him South African if your parents are foreign. (There was a huge issue where parents of foreign kids had problems enrolling their kids in schools because they didnt request the proper verification docs etc from their local consulates. They merely demanded because their kids are born here, they must immediately be granted citizenship).
3. Then create a ranked system with everyting. The biggest difference between the two Singapore school systems is not the quality of education, but the cost factor. Local primary school fees start at $13 a month for citizens and go up to $750 per month for those with foreign status. These costs do vary slightly between schools and are usually revised each year. Yip if youre foreigner you should pay more. We do that at universities already. There is an extra allowance, but schools should do the same.
4. Businesses must prove that they couldnt find a local worked to do the job, so they had to hire a foreigner with the correct permits and they paid a deposit, should that foreigner loose their job and have to be deported. Now this is the case in the Netherlands. If you are on a work permit and you loose your job, you have 3 months to find another job or you have to pack up and leave. Sucks but should be the same here.

This way we save a lot on tax, we push our unemployment rate lower, and we save a lot on the freebies we offer. This money can be better used to expand for better schooling etc.

This way, you would be prouder to be South African, as you have benefits over everyone else. People would actually want to become South African.

Very long post that is wrong, you don't need to demonstrate to Malema how many local vs foreigners you have, it's between you and the department of labor or a committee that has been expressly given the power to investigate that may do so, not any random parliamentarian.

Just wanted to say this is very incorrect and your friends may be getting the wrong advice entirely. You don't need to leave the country to reapply for any permit. I have been renewing my spouses permit every 2 years for a long time. Not once has he ever had to leave the country. I've seen how both the work permits and living ones work. It also makes it easier too if you are with someone so those that have kids - doesn't make any sense.

A minister has basically replaced Lords, Barons and Dukes who were the senior figures for aristocracy. The Duke, Baron and Lord was well within their rights to inspect. Ministers are more a grey line. There are departments in government thats supposed to do so, but honestly a lot of departments dont even do the basics. Ie our police should be in charge of border control, but yet thousands cross the border illegally. Then they dont do much to deport people once they are here. The department of home affairs is supposed to check and verify all permits whether legal or illegal. But we know they dont do that well either. That leaves us with the labour department. They are supposed to make sure that businesses follow the rules of labour in SA. But then again, they dont really do that either.

So its quite common to find a minister to interfere based on what interests them. And because parliamentarians are the rulers of SA, this becomes a headache in red tape and grey lines.

So yes Malema can go and see and use his power as parlimentarian to go ask questions. A lot of grumpy officials may object. But then thats politics.
