"100% Cotton Percale". WTF is cotton percale?

Us textile people have fancy names for things .... percale is a dense cloth woven with fine spun yarns.

If we put high twist yarns in we call it a Chiffon ...

Or is we make it look like a dish cloth, we call it a waffle ....

Or a block, we call it a ripstop ..... we also have a basket, a panama, a half panama, a twill, a houndstooth, a cavalry twill, a honeycomb (dishcloths) .... and so on.

Strange folk these textile people .... :)

Thanks. Those definitely weren't there last time I looked.

That's the sort of thing that needs to be dumbed down before it's put onto a consumer product's label, otherwise I assume you're trying to hide something behind new buzzwords you've just invented.

Method has 800TC. He's leading this TC-war thread. Stop embarrassing yourself.

1000TC? Anyone with 1000? Do I hear 1000?

My TC is over 9000.

Jokes I have some pure cotton percale stuff I bought from @Home about 2 years ago. Not sure what the thread count is, 200 or just over I think.

Sure it's an investment :p Couldn't find any at Edgards but Woolies had some as well as @home and one or two others. Depends where you go though, a duvet cover for a king sized bed ranged from R800 to about R3k(all around 400TC-600TC range).

Only posted that 4 years ago :erm:
But in any case the feeling of nice sheets against your skin can't be beat. The good nights rest is worth it!
