ANC in Ekurhuleni says the DA should not simplify the dismissal of workers but the DA says residents can not trust police with criminal records.

The ANC in Ekurhuleni has slammed the DA for suggesting a mass dismissal of at least 250 EMPD workers who allegedly have criminal records.

The DA in Ekurhuleni said it was shocking that residents and motorists in Ekurhuleni were being protected by police with criminal records. The party also alleged that most of the employees had gotten criminal records after they were appointed to the metro police force.

Lol..

Dlabathi denied that some of the EMPD officers who have been found to have criminal records are members of the ANC. This comes after an accusation that some of the police members with criminal records were members of the DA.

Their political party membership is entirely irrelevant in my opinion but the demand that they be dismissed is totally accurate, you cannot have a law enforcement officer who has been proven to break the law.

ANC is in shock that the DA thinks firing criminals in South Africa's most corrupt Metro Police Department is a good idea.

I don't think the ANC can tell the difference between wrong and right...

I have personally witnessed EMPD officers soliciting bribes from motorists (mostly taxi Drivers) for speeding! In fact I witnessed it again today. I cannot report this illegal activity to anyone within EMPD as there is pure mistrust of any EMPD and local SAPS! I have approached my Councillor and was told that they do not know who can be trusted within EMPD!
Ekurhulenie is rotten to the core and the cANCer have a nerve to slam the DA for trying to do the impossible!

of course the anc will support ex-cons and criminals...

they are only capable of catering to the lowest of scum.

Majority of civil servants and EMPD's are getting new employment contracts signed spanning 5-10 years as they know their days are numbered. Performance reviews will fix though!

Don't agree. In the context of deeply entrenched cadre deployment as we have, the gap to jump to get to jobs-for-bribes is super, super narrow. We know it happens all the time in SA. In Teaching, nursing, the police, municipal offices, etc.. etc..

There's really nothing else that explains it. And it means that the party matters in this debate.

Majority of civil servants and EMPDs are not employed on fixed term contracts, those that are on fixed term are limited to 5 years.

Not sure why you continue with deflection ? Is it not embarrasing ?

Back to my earlier post, they all know their days are numbered and trying their utmost best to secure their jobs as cadre deployment is coming to an abrupt halt!

Would you agree that if they are protected because of their political membership it is a problem?

Broke the law as a police officer. Criminal record. Continues to be employed as police officer.

They ANC has standards so low you'd need to ask the Russians to drill a hole to try to find those standards.

Source? You seem to know some stuff about this (said non-sarcastically). Spill some beans, what do these contracts look like?
