so during a recent thunderstorm, my Fence Alarm tripped and we were forced to switch it off. ever since then, the energizer unit has had a flashing "Fence Alarm" light and when we try and switch it back on, it does not work.

i opened up Wizard Energizer box and checked the fuse, which looks fine. We have also checked that nothing is in contact with the fence itself. what else could it be ?

Maybe the HT transformer got zapped by lightning. Assuming you have reset the alarms or restarted the unit. To test remove HT cables and replace with wire shorting the terminals, If it still flashes take in for repairs else if not find the problem on the fence. Check that all connections is tight.

The fence is activated and shorting somewhere so check all wires around the house for the problem, could be a branch etc. Also it could be the battery but then the service light should be on or flash.

That's what happened with my Wizord 4 energizer (HT transformer popped) and I had the same issue of the alarm light not switching off even when I connected the live out to the live return to take the fence out of the equation.
It cost less than R400 and about 10 minutes to have it repaired at Nemtek in Edevale.

i pulled out battery and switched off power in attempt to "reboot" it. but it came back on with "fence alarm" light flashing. Is there some other way to reset it ? how do i know which are the "HT cables" /

So do i remove the entire unit and take it into an electronic/security store to have a look at ? anything i should be careful off, in terms of wiring ?

Switch the unit off.
At the bottom there are 4 terminals going to your fence. Two are for the live loop and two for the ground loop.

Disconnect the fence wires from the terminals and connect jumper wires in their place - one across live and one across ground.
Then start the unit up and check the alarm status.
If it's still alarming, your energiser is faulty. If it's not, you have a break in your fence somewhere.

okay, i will see if there is a way to switch off. My unit only has 3 terminals at the bottom though

OK then you probably don't have a ground loop, just a ground wire.
Leave that one connected.

Normally, btw, opening the energiser cover will power the unit off. If you have any doubt, disconnect the battery and unplug the unit too.

going to try the "short circuit" trick to determine whether its the fence or the energiser thats the problem. I have a red/green/black terminel under my energiser. Which two do i short ?

edit :

okay, so i short circuited the RED and GREEN terminals and when i switched it one, hence alarm STILL goes on. does that mean my energizer is kaput? Is the energizer something within the box, or is it the entire box itself? is there some way to get it sorted without calling in a security guy? can i just BUY a new energiser box/component ? sorry for the noobness :(

Sorry for the thread necro, but what's the best place to buy a replacement Wizord 4? Or can anybody take theirs to Nemtek for repair?

Yup they're open to the public. Very nice guys there.

Hi does anyone know how to connect a remote receiver to a Wizord 4 energizer? Essentially I want to switch the unit on/off using a remote control. My energizer is located outside and when the siren goes off at night I don't want to go outside to reset it. Any advice would be welcomed. BTW I am using a Sentry 1 channel receiver.

I'd recommend getting a pro to do it unless you're pretty clued up with electronics.

In addition, sort out what is triggering the alarm or else it is useless.

got it working

I did the following to get the Wizord energizer to work with a Sentry one channel receiver. One the Wizord 4 there are two green blocks which provide power and another longer set which is for siren, strobe, gate. Connect a two pair (four wires) as follows. Green, white, red and black this is done on the Sentry receiver. Now connect the opposite end green and white to the wizord energizer... Green on the far right labeled "switch" and white right next door to it. Now connect the red wire to the + at the energizer far left and the black right next door marked - and that's it. Don't forget to train/learn the remote control to the Sentry receiver. Also very important, remove J1 jumper on the energizer. Hope this helps.

Just spoke to Nemtek Edenvale. A flashing alarm light is a problem with the unit. You have to take it in to nemtek for inspection or repair.

Hi guys
I checked my wizodr 4 energizer but the alarm light is still ficking and on fence side no lights at all no good ,check or bad how can l fix that problem?

Follow the instruction further up. If you still have the issue, take it to nemtek. They are closed tomorrow.

going to try this test on my energiser this weekend. The unit sometimes starts up fine and runs for a short bit but then starts to alarm again. I have walked the entire fence and sorted out areas that were ticking (since it ticks I suspect the fence is actually working as i can see sparks when i bridge the ground to a live.

What is normal for a 5 line fence? i suspected (from the bottom) that 2 and 4 would be ground but it seems like i have 1 ground and 4 live?
