Good day all

Anyone have any experience with any of these?

Doesn't look too bad, sadly no experience, however, for only 500wh for that price is a big much. You could probably grab a decent 12v 100-120Ah deep cycle + 1kva (1000W) inverter as a bundle deal from some electrical places for R4999 or the same price.

105Ah * 12v = 1260Wh of usage, because it's Led Acid (or GEL) you can really only drain it down to 50% so 1260/2 = 630Wh of usable power. Not 100% accurate but it's around that. So you would end up with around 100Wh more of power and the biggest thing is you can double it by adding another battery down the line.

So you could just grab like second battery and reach 1200Wh with it.

But, you do pay for how easy it is to set up that Lifelynk unit. Geewiz also still sells those mecer 100Ah backup solutions for R4999, which is still a decent entry-level point.

Thanks allot sir, not clued up with this stuff. I live in a flat so I cant really do any installations ], I just need something that I can connect when theres load shedding. I just need to power an ONT, WIFI router and possibly a laptop.

Ohhhhh then you not powering much really. Honestly, you could probably squeeze by with something like this: https://shop.dbg.co.za/mups60w17-6ah.html

17.6Ah at 60W. It will easily cover your ONT and Router with around 50W to spare, depends on what laptop you have though, but it could theoretically power that too for like an hour if your battery is decent sized and it's a newer model.

Not sure, but think these go for like R1499, a much cheaper solution overall to get started as a basic backup, at worst your internet will be up and running during loadshedding.

Using the Ellies Cube Mini to power a router and fiber ONT, works great

Replying to this old'ish thread but be careful, I see Geewiz is now putting a big warning on their site for the Ellies Cube Nova that says "This will not charge and power your device at the same time. it is a large power bank, not a UPS" !!!
https://www.geewiz.co.za/ups/153286...ower-bank-ac-inverter-modified-sine-wave.html

This skuppers my plans to use as a simple (but appreciate expensive) backup UPS!
Very few portable power stations can do that, charge&power simultaneously.

Not referring to small units like the Ellies Cube Mini and stuff like the Omnipower Ratel 8100.

The Rentech PPS750 can not either.

Genki can however if not mistaken - See the FAQ section here:

The Jackery units also support pass through charging.
