Elon fires top Twitter executives shortly after deal closes

Elon Musk completed his $44-billion (R789.4-billion) acquisition of Twitter Inc., according to people familiar with the matter, putting the world's richest man in charge of the struggling social network after six months of public and legal wrangling over the deal.

Among Musk's first moves: changing the leadership.

I like Elon more before it all went to his head. Seems to think he is the world's messiah now or something. Kind of lost a lot of respect towards him of late. The stuff he says is increasingly childish and dangerous and his meddling in international politics, especially around Ukraine, is getting dangerous.

Never really liked him. He's a conman.

But Twitter is the type of thing I can see him doing well in actually.

He does behave like he is still trying to fit in. He should have stayed with his wife instead of trying to fit into the baller life which he's now abandoned for trying out the political play ground.

He'll have to exploit the user base to make money out of the thing as advertising alone isn't making them money.

Yeah but I think he is doing that because of US and Ukraines poor decisions. There are going to be allot less people living in Ukraine. Him having an opinion on it and wanting to do something about it is called being a 'stand up person'. Whether he is right or wrong. But the US, UN and Ukraine are doing nothing to try and end it.

Politicians are dumb people. It makes sense for elon to dabble there to wanna fix things. Because he likes to innovate and has good judgement.
He is the only person trying to find a way to help Ukraine that I know of. Enlighten me if I am wrong.

It's weird though, he is human, he has a sense of humor and he tries to help people.
He just bought twitter. He's more successful and smarter than anyone that criticizes him.
So it's all a bunch of salt. And saying he says childish things is exact example of the saltiness.
He's a human male. Ofcourse he says childish things. It's the ones that don't say childish things you should worry about.
To me it also shows he is a good person compared to other people.

But ey... guess we all can hate on people for being childish which is childish but yeah all good

Is it just a coincidence that the Twitter app on my android device stopped working since last night...?
I get the message 'Unfortunately, Twitter has stopped.' I've tried every possible fix available but no luck. Works fine via web browser but that's a shlep.

He is a decent person to be a fan of.

Who are you a fan of?
Nothing wrong with being a fan of a man who is successful and who has some cool ideas (or enough money to make other people's cool ideas possible).
Do I want a Tesla? No (Build quality is apparently meh), but I do think Tesla has made electric cars cool.
Do I want a Starlink internet connection? No, fibre is still my first choice, but it doesn't change the fact that the tech is ****ing cool.
One can appreciate the advancements made by his companies. The ideas might be others, but at the very least he has companies where ideas are allowed to flourish and become cool ****.

I get that, thing is in this world we have people that are say experts at making music, or movies, or electric cars and space ships giving opinions on stuff that is very far out of their area of expertise and actually swaying public opinion. I agree sometimes it ends up being good when you have bad politicians and the world is currently facing a bit of a dry patch in terms of great leadership. However it can backfire in a big way. I just think Elon should stick to the stuff he is good at, and cut back on commenting on stuff he is really not that qualified to talk on. That's me though. Don't get me wrong, I love what Elon has done for electric vehicles, the space race, etc. I just think the recent Ukraine thing. His weird way of handling this Twitter deal, and going all the way back to calling a heroic cave diver a pedo are just unnecessary. Even Grimes commented (while defending Elon) that he can be childish on twitter. He has had to delete some sexist stuff too in the past. Why? If he manages to offend enough people it could also poison his existing companies which I really don't want to see.
