Elon Musk has enough wealth to buy several of South Africa's biggest companies and get change

We really must think we're special if we find it striking that some US billionaire is worth more than a few of our mediocre local corporations (some of which are merely operating on past momentum).
 
do something useful Musk, go mine an asteroid, and simultaneously make yourself the First human being to reach a quintrillion
and crash the world economy with the amount of Mineral wealth just 1 asteroid has.

or finally do something actually useful with all those Rockets you have laying around,
send Nuclear waste into Space, where it cant harm anybody.

I mean if you sent a car to orbit, why not something we actually need?

His wealth is about 70% of this entire country's GDP (USD862 billion).

Pity that the environment does not exist for people like him to build that sort of business success locally.
 
Those South African companies probably each make more profit than Tesla, so it's better to be invested in MTN, Vodacom, Standard Bank etc, than Tesla from a risk point-of-view.

I would want to do this with all types of minerals.

Just to crash the so called value these minerals hold. One can dream.
