Hate speech has no place in freedom of speech. Been a longstanding compromise, and one I agree with.

Problem is twitter hides behind that cause without common sense at the moment. Hopefully Musk see's and addresses this.

I personally would not want to take to twitter with the media backlash of allowing trump/anti-semetic/anti... blah blah.. bridges are going to go after him. But clearly he is more of a man than most and has achieved far more than most in many generations.

I think the platform and format are the issue so in my eyes its still just a cesspit. Not easy to just "fix"

There are only two types of speech that need to be regulated on Twitter.

Incitement to violence (like what Julius Malema et al engage in and get away with all the time) and harassment of an individual.

That just about it. If some Nazi wants to go on a rant about how the Joooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooos are responsible for everything, let them. It isn't Twitter's place to determine that.

Wonder if he's just trolling. Wouldn't put it past him he's a bit of an ass.

Twitter and meta however do need to unwoken. They've taken the whole thing too far. You can moderate racism without resorting to racism yourself. They're unfair in their dealing with hate speech.

In summary if it’s just words “grow a pair”. You know the old playground “sticks and stones will break my bones but words will never harm”.

Insighting with the intent of actual harm. That is another story.

As it is a cash offer, wonder where he is going to get the cash - $33 billion ($43 billion less the $10 billion he already owns) is a lot of cash to have on hand if that's how he's financing it.

Otherwise $33 billion will be a very large loan against presumably Tesla shares as security - still seems large for a single counterparty, maybe he will use multiple ones. Could probably sell some Tesla shares but that might be a negative signal to the market.
