Wait... he lives on the Isle of Man?

So how is he any more "South African" than Elon Musk? Also, I think Elon has achieved a LOT more than Mark. Tesla. Paypal. SpaceX... All Mark did was sell out Thawte and he's been living on the proceeds ever since

Sure I agree he has achieved more than mark,but we simply talking about from a South African point of view and in that respect Mark Shuttleworth can be looked up to by many young South Africans since he may be living abroad(for furthering his success,no problem with going where you find better opportunities) but he still gives back to the country/community he came from to further its development.Lead SA initiative is trying to achieve this same type of patriotism which will greatly enhance our countries future and the live of our kids.

That is patriotism and loyalty enough for me to respect the man.

Actually, if anything, its the people who have the opportunity to have other countries citizenship who I've found to be the most vehemently South African.

+1 My uncle immigrated to canada thirty odd years ago,today he has come back to sa to retire and swears its the best place in the world to live in.
