Email address problem when changing ISPs.

Hi,

Our small business is soon wanting to move from TelkomInternet to WebAfrica as our service providers. However, we have Telkom email addresses setup that we are using and wanted to know if anyone had some suggestions for minimising the damage in terms of emails/contacts lost when moving over to our Web Africa emails. We do plan on getting our own domain name and then settup up email addresses there though in the future.

You can request telkom to keep an email only account. But switch to your own domain name as soon as possible (rather sooner than later) how about right now

For .com's I would use www.godaddy.com
For .co.za I would use http://www.hetzner.co.za/index.php?id=7&MP=6-349 R79 initial and R49 thereafter per year

About 18months ago the cost from TELKOM was R12 p/m to keep your email address and mail-box. Pricing shouldn't be much different - perhaps even cheaper now.

Id suggest keeping the telkom one until you get your own domain setup. Otherwise you'll have to inform every1 of the change to web africa then again of the change to your own
