I got a contract with 8ta / Telkom Mobile and I have tried to setup my email. I can receive the incoming on the pop3 settings but outgoing does not work. I have tried using smtp.saix.net, smtp.live.net and smtp.live.com using port 25 for all. Could somebody help me with this? I have phone the call centre several times and they have no clue.

My phone is the Samsung Galaxy S3 (if anyone else has had this problem)

My ISP is SA Domain and they referred me to 8ta to get the settings to receive my mail and I got hold of them and they said SA Domain is correct and supplied me with various smtp's since. Anyone else struggle but come right or can steer me in the right direction with this problem of outgoing (sending) email.

Thanks kindly

I have tried with SSL and without and have tried with Sign-in required and not. Which settings you recommend or you using? Thanks for the reply :)

I'm personally not using S3 or 8ta,
But the settings should be,

server: smtp.saix.net
Security settings: none
port: 25

require sign-in - un-ticked.

If this does not work, then there's something definitely wrong, maybe give the Telkom Rep a shout.

This worked! Thank you so much. The only thing that was different that we never tried was unticking the sign-in setting. This helped big time! Thank you :) :) :)

Or use your mail server for outgoing mail with authentication. It can be done easily with Yahoo or Gmail. If your mail server doesn't allow it, you can use one of above free service providers to pull all your mail to one box and also send your mail with different sender details.

Easy Tiger - Noob at the helm here. Lol. Thanks for the suggestion if I did not come right, I would have googled that for a step by step solution :)
