I would rather live with the YouTube audio problem than resetting the device. Thanks for the help.I know it’s a pain … but factory reset?

Yes, but the interface.
That's nothing to cry about. Who cares about Android versions on media boxes. As long as they work.
How old must the device be for that to happen? My 2018 Mi Box 3 is still going fine.all well and good until an app needs an updated firmware version and stops working till you upgrade
at the moment the only devices available on SA running Google TV are the Xiaomi devices AFAIK - older devices like the Ematic are still on the original AndroidTV
We talking about TV apps. Will be fine for the next 20 years on much older devices. There does come a time to just upgrade the box. The only time you really need to upgrade is for HDR or DV support or some other patented technology.all well and good until an app needs an updated firmware version and stops working till you upgrade
It's a problem with Smart TVs, but not having the absolute latest model of Android on a "box" is hardly a problem. We talking about TV apps. Will be fine for the next 20 years on much older devices. It's because each idiot wants to have their "own" OS. If they all just use Google TV or Android TV without their own rubbish on top of it, there won't be any but issues. It's a problem with Smart TVs, but not having the absolute latest model of Android on a "box" is hardly a problem.
Yeah I'm talking about the guy who was disgruntled that he's still on Android 9.It's because each idiot wants to have their "own" OS. If they all just use Google TV or Android TV without their own rubbish on top of it, there won't be any but issues.

But you're not wrong.
Yep. My Mi Box 3 is on 9, and everything still works fine, and I like it more than the new 2nd gen. Damn I'm full of schit.Nothing wrong with being stuck, on Android 9.
I will run my boxes, till they stop working, if I get 3-4 years out of them I am happy. They are cheap enough.
My 2019 Shield TV Pro is still running great, for that matter, so is my first Mi-Box 3, now in use by my Son and his Wife.

There's your problem there - make sure that the OS has been upgraded to the latest Android TV version release available, then also make sure that all of your apps have been updated to their latest versions.I never upgraded mine, still running Android 9. I tested this old boy on Netflix and Apple TV+ and I got a set of curious results. Netflix has HDR but no Atmos, and Apple TV+ has no HDR but I get Atmos. Anybody know why that is so?
I got plans to buy a new media player, I don't trust upgrading on this dated chipset - I remember seeing an issue with WiFi, a big no no for me. So to confirm, do folks get Atmos and HDR on Netflix and Apple on the Ematic? There's your problem there - make sure that the OS has been upgraded to the latest Android TV version release available, then also make sure that all of your apps have been updated to their latest versions.
It may just be that your audio settings for the Ematic unit, or for your Netflix & Apple TV+ apps - and those for your TV set / AV receiver- may need to be fine-tuned / adjusted accordingly. Also try using a HDMI 2.1 cable & see if that makes any difference as well.
No Idea - I currently have a Netogy Nova streaming box - only had an Ematic AGT-419 for a couple of months during early 2021 - but was very happy with it - sold it here on MyBB when I was cash-strapped as a result of the 'shamdemic' lock-down.I got plans to buy a new media player, I don't trust upgrading on this dated chipset - I remember seeing an issue with WiFi, a big no no for me. It was never advertised as Dolby Atmos because it didn’t do over Netflix - but technically the player can do it & as you say you’ve got it over Apple TV+ and there are a few other apps that can do it (ie Tidal).I never upgraded mine, still running Android 9.
