So it caught fire - now a bunch of areas are shut down, included but not limited to:
Blackheath + exts
Northcliff + exts
Fairlands + exts
Berario
Montgomery Park

Grim news. So many people affected. This is a direct result of load shedding. Regretfully it gets worse.

That's why I have some serious reservations when it comes to all those calls for instituting permanent Stage 1 or 2 blackouts so Eskom can catch up on repairs etc. AFAIK these things weren't designed to be switched on and off all the time.

I don't think this is a direct result of loadshedding. Lack of maintenance, perhaps.
Cause was given as oil overheating and catching fire.

3rd or 4th fire in the 15 odd years we have been in the area. Usually fixed in a day or two.
Hopefully it's the same again.

Ours was 3-5 days every time but I hope for your sake you are more fortunate.
