I got sick of trying to get files via bittorrent - it just plain doesn't work for me anymore, with max d/l of 4k per second - the upstream beats my downstream [xx(]
So, I decided to give emule a try.
Ok, first thing, after installing, it has the option to "test ports" to see if people can connect to me - great stuff. I configure my smoothwall firewall to allow the specific emule ports and do the test - nope, can't connect to me via TCPIP - "TCP test failed! UDP test will not be performed."
Hmmm, ok, lets do some more meddling with the firewall - nope, nothing. Ok, turn off zonealarm - nada.
Haul out old USB cable and hook modem direct to PC, with Zonealarm off (just for a second mind you) - "TCP test failed! UDP test will not be performed."
So what gives ? Is this normal for emule ? Is this Sentech blocking those specific ports ?
Can a network savvy person verify if ports are being blocked by Sentech, or is it just me being daft ?
