Errr, quite a far fetched assumption, since only 3% of computerised gaming is PERSONAL COMPUTER games.

????? ... what, majority of people playing games on graphics servers ... ???????? im stupid ... so explain what you mean ... :)

unless you mean that consoles constitute 97% and the 3 % is pc gaming ... well in that case thanks for pointing that out .. kinda adds to my point ... if i am EA or Bioware id rather concentrate making sure my console market is happy first and then my pc market ... as i will get more console exposure ... thus more $$$

whats the point in having the fastest screen card but thhe pc game is badly programmed?

Eg. Vampire: Bloodlines :( Badly put together, lighting was shoddy, level design lacked finish, texturing was subpar, chugs on the best machines I've seen...

Damn but I need a good (NON FANTASY YOU INDUSTRY FSCKERS!) roleplaying game. Fallout3 (imminent, just as soon as bethesda get around to making a real game again) is the only reason I could want to own a pc.

I didn't check the settings of NWN2 it was just the settings the game started on, I also have Dark Messiah, and haven't had a single bug or crash with the game, and I have already finished it.

I can imagine the people that bought pirated versions of it are having problems as they didn't do the steam download.

looking at the recent titles i m sure gaming on a pc is nearing to an end ... publishers/game studios are concentrating their efforts on the consoles and this can be seen by all the buggy titles coming onto the pc market ...

i mean for me to be getting 12FPS in NWN2 is ridiculous!
gothic 3 is filled with graphical anomalies
need for speed carbon has an issue with nvidia cards apparently
splinter cell double agent crashes every so often ...

was considering the 8800gtx gpu ... but think i will now rather get myself an x360, ps3 or wii ... i did not hear of a buggy game on a console ... it is easier for developers to just code for a x360 than for a pc (considering there are so many varying configurations out there)

in a few months time after PS3 is out graphics card better than the PS3 has wil be out.

most problems with games and PCs are due to crap hardware ... it is time for people to stop buying this junk they sell in incredible corruption and game that is useless for anything but checking your email (if that!), educate yourself a bit, and go configure your own system without SiS and VIA chips in it ... and there you go!

In the US the big gaming shops (e.g. EB Games) are stocking lots more console titles than PC, even though the games are more expensive people tend to be more willing to spend $200-$400 on a console and $60 on a game every month than $1000+ on a PC and $40 for every game. If you buy lots of games you pay less if you stick to PC but if you only have $500 you can get more bang by going with a console.

I only play PC and a top end PC will always kick any console's ass, simply cause it's upgradeable, but it is more expensive, and most people just don't have a lot of money to throw at upgrades all the time. The 8800GTX just released is already better than PS3 but it costs as much as well. Truth is, as long as there're people with money for toys, PC gaming will be alive and well, and game developers will be fighting it out for the ultimate title e.g. UT2007, Crysis, etc.

For the next 5 years at least, the ultimate gaming titles will all be on PC. There will not be any new consoles launched for at least 3 years, and the best PC today is already a better gaming rig than the best console. With the advantage of 3 years worth of upgrades to come I don't see how anyone can think that PC gaming is dead.

Last time I heard, PC game sales were on the brink, if not already, overtaking movie sales. And im sure we all know how much the movie industry makes?

PC games will never die. People will still carry on playing, even with the bugs. Look at BF2142. Prime example right there!

I really can't believe you bought the retail version, I have finished the game twice without a single bug, if you really bought the retail version, can you tell me how big your steam download was?

And my box isn't silver.

What your forgot to mension is "the reason why shops in the States are seliing fewer and fewer PC games is because people are more frequently purchasing games online, in the States they don't pay for bandwith like we do, so when they wan't a new game they just buy it online and download it"

If you really had the original you would know that in order to play Dark Messiah a 3gig download is required, sorry mate your story doesn't hold water, in the future you should purchase original titles. You would also know that the game requires 10gig of HD space.

The only difference may be, if there is another version of the game, that can be purchased that has the download already completed, but if this were the case the entire download and the game would use well over 10 gig of HD space, not 6.

Firstly I am of the opinion that PC games are created mainly based on OS, Direct-X and some common factors that don't require a lot of coding for each individual graphics card. Its the card itself that is compatible with the same specs as the game requires otherwise how will a card released tomorrow support a game created 2 years ago even without updating, but I may be wrong.

However I believe PC games will never die simply because PC's are always upgradeable, can be customised to the users desire and support much much more than just gaming and can be used as a multiplatform system which is much more diverse than any console as far as im aware.

There will always be a need for PC's and therefore there will always be a level of entertainment available for them (games being the most interactive form).

Not to mention the fact that quad core processors and staunch sli setups are already available for the PC. Whatever happened to physics cards btw?

And lastly I believe the images and resolutions of the simple monitor will always surpass a TV. No use plugging a console into a monitor because you might as well get a PC anyway :/

Just my 2 cents worth :D

One thing I get mad about is the fact that they don't make PC versions of games like Burnout, WWE, Mortal Kombat, Other fighting Titles, Platform titles? (most of which actually started on PC)
