Anyone here who owns this Fiesta model kindly advice which engine oil to use, I know it is in the manual but i don't have the manual with me and I want to buy the oil today to do the service early tomorrow.
TIA.

As my Figo has the same engine as your Fiesta the recommended oil is 5w30 fully synthetic

Agreed, sounds like your car has some miles on it so my best bet would be to use a higher viscosity oil but keep to fully synthetic oils for these engines

Just out of interest....why would a engine with a high mileage need a higher viscosity oil? If the car had all its oil changes as recommended by the manufacturer, then surely the engine components inside the engine should be in pretty good shape or does something happen that requires the oil to be different?

Carbon, sludge buildup and wear and tear over years of operation. It helps using a higher viscosity oil to improve oil pressure and extend the service life of the motor

Oh ok. I thought regular oil changes prevents sludge buildup and carbon. Good to know :)

So the oil as stipulated in the car manual is still okay?
Yup still okay my Figo is on 115 000kms and I'm still using 5w30 fully synthetic oil in it. Never had any troubles. Use any high spec fully synth oil and you'd be good. Personally I use Castrol Magnatec 5w30 A5 as per the manual

Yip sometimes it does not and carbon buildup is due to the natural combustion process of the engine. Some buildup occurs but serious buildup happens mostly in direct injection engines. So much so that carbon cleaning is needed

You sure that the Figo's engine is the same 1.4 Duratec as used in the Fiesta?
