Hi guys,

I'm sure this has been mentioned before, but does anyone know some good engineering field test software for cellphones?

It needs to be able to be forced on a 2G/GSM profile or a 3G/UMTS profile. Be able to pick up the base station ID and also the levels, like RSSI, Ec/No and RSCP as well? And if possible to also pick up the neighbouring sites as well?

It doesn't have to necessarily be free, but free would be nice.

Anyone know of such software?

I know a friend in the cellphone industry has got this program on his phone that his company paid for, but it costs something like R 14 000 for the software, but if can do a whole lot more that described above.

I just need something simple that can just do the above.

Thanks!

You could use a Huawei E220 HSDPA Modem and MDMA software on a laptop.

The software that can be flashed to a Nokia phone is no longer available for the man in the street. In certain modes it is possible to adjust cell operation and thus no longer available for this reason!

If you can find an old Nokia 6210 (not Navigator) this has the software built in but disabled. It can be activated with programs like "Logomanager" and a serial cable. Of course don't do this it it's illegal to do so!
