Through his teeth. You don't say the things Amla said when he got the captaincy then resign ahead of or midway through the Proteas' biggest Series since his appointment. Read what he said when he was named captain, and you'll know that what he said now is rubbish and a huge contradiction in comparison. Cook has endured worse with his batting form, fan abuse, analysts, celebrities, peers, former greats etc, you name it but stuck it out. Their personalities are the same. Both guys laid back&humble. Look at Cook now. leading arguably the #1 Test side. Amla throwing in the towel like that, knowing AB's captancy is suspect, plus other batsmen besides Elgar off colour? Injury ravaged, against England? Does not correlate!

You are very disrespectful.

Amla would never lie - not ever - he'd rather hang up his boots.

He was one of the worst cheaters in the history of the game and left a huge black mark on SA cricket. Good riddance .

So did other legends. that was a bad patch. lets speak of the now rather? Who do you recommend?

You're strong with sarcasm or genuinely naive?

Nope, neither.

That beard of his is not worn for fashion purposes.

Hashim Amla is a man with deep principles - he plays for the love of the game and would rather walk away than lie. You have no idea of this man's personal life.

You can take that to the bank.

OMG.

You know him personally and vouch for his principles?

He wears a beard and says he's a muslim. I saw Hansie pray to his God on the field many times.

What was your point again?

Stop trolling now, you give boksburg a bad vibe!

Not trolling, but you post daft questions when you clearly would rather say something, I choose to take the piss. Rather just say what it is you want, Cryptic innuendo doesn't translate well on the iterwebs.

Really. Why does that sentence sound so familiar? Amla lives in the Oos rand, Boksburg?

I don't think you need to know too much anymore to captain, tbh...there is so much analysis going on off the field, the captain is not needed to generate cricketing wisdom. What he does need to do is inspire and provide a personality that other people rally around.

Biff is not a cricketing genius yet we had our most successful period under him...that should tell us something. Hashim is somewhat of an introvert...that's not good for captaincy.
Lol. You probably never played cricket before. As a captain, you need to constantly think about the state of the match, what you could do differently and at times concocting a few plans. Yes, you do a considerable amount before the match, but you cannot account for all situations and sometimes you have to be creative enough to strategise in the moment. There are several parts to captaincy. Leadership (inspiring etc) is one; having a great cricketing mind is another. You cannot seriously suggest you don't need to know much about being a captain in order to be a captain.

I agree with your take on Hashim, though. A captain needs to be outspoken and the source of inspiration.

I said who I missed but your trolling exercise stood in the way of taking notice.
