+1 The rest of the bowlers are going to take strain if he gets injured again.

Bit concerning how injury prone our fast bowlers seem to be and that with a moderate work load in relation to what the English bowlers have had over the last 18 months or so. England have played well over twice the number of tests SA has.

Again I must question this squads work ethic under Domingo and co.

Can't disagree with that. In the days of Ntini and Pollock, with way more tests, injures were rare.

If he's not 100% I don't think he should play.

If we are playing 4 seamers and he can play, he plays for the me but bowls less then the other 3. He is a true match winner and I will have him in my team anyway possible.

Pollock and Ntini didn't play ipl and t20 games. They only had tests and odi's.

If you go and have a look at the young aussie quick bowlers injury records are just as bad if not worse.

Can blame domigo for a lot but I don't think he is totally to blame for fast bowlers picking up injuries.

Let's look at Steyn - joint 3rd fastest to 400 wickets with Richard Hadlee. Has bowled 1500 balls more than Allan Donald who broke down in his final test.
Similar fast bowlers like Lee, Waqar, Akhtar can't come close to Steyn in terms of his workload. There were also injuries among them.

It will be a miracle if Steyn can continue as he is very close to becoming the greatest fast bowler of all time.

Pro 20 is only 4 overs so that's moot.

True but they played virtually every ODI so it's a bit of a moot point.

Steyn has been rested from most ODIs in order to prolong his career but it hasn't made a difference anyway. In 10 years he's barely played 100 ODIs...

What are you referring to here? First class records mixed with international records?

Jip. None of piedt, morris, viljoen, radaba or abbot have played a test at wanderers.
Thanks.

Although I'm not sure Abbott's record was intentional...:D

If Piedt is dropped JP will have to come back for the obvious reason (4 minimum plyers of colour), plus the fact that he can be turned to to bowl spin.

NB: Tsotsobe FC averages for each team are as follows, but I can't get his Wanderers record, which should probably be lower than 21.85 considering that's his Lions Home&Away average.
Eastern Province 19.18
Lions 21.85
SA Inv XI 22.25
South Africa A 24.45
Warriors 27
I no some guys get tired at his mention, but sooner or later someone has to acknowledge that we haven't been making good use of the new ball, and we need arguably the best new ball bowler in the country if we're going to start winning Test Series. He's obviously unfit like Steyn&Philander right now, but as soon as he is, he needs to be considered.

Woakes should concentrate on actually making the england side instead of talking about us...
