He will be assessed on Monday when the squad meets up in Joburg. Can we get back on topic please.
Is Steyn confirmed for next test, or still 50/50?

Agreed. Either 100% fit or sit in the stands!!If he's not 100% I don't think he should play.

+1 The rest of the bowlers are going to take strain if he gets injured again.
Bit concerning how injury prone our fast bowlers seem to be and that with a moderate work load in relation to what the English bowlers have had over the last 18 months or so. England have played well over twice the number of tests SA has.
Again I must question this squads work ethic under Domingo and co.

Can't disagree with that. In the days of Ntini and Pollock, with way more tests, injures were rare.

Pollock and Ntini didn't play ipl and t20 games. They only had tests and odi's.
If you go and have a look at the young aussie quick bowlers injury records are just as bad if not worse.
Can blame domigo for a lot but I don't think he is totally to blame for fast bowlers picking up injuries.
True but they played virtually every ODI so it's a bit of a moot point.Pollock and Ntini didn't play ipl and t20 games. They only had tests and odi's.

Proteas XI probably will be then:
Elgar, JP, Amla, AB, Faf, Bavuma, QdK(wk), Morris, Rabada, Steyn, Viljoen
What are you referring to here? First class records mixed with intensional records?
Thanks.Jip. None of piedt, morris, viljoen, radaba or abbot have played a test at wanderers.
International. Blame Swype's autocorrect...Thanks.
Although I'm not sure Abbott's record was intentional...![]()
I figured. But I've learnt that it's highly impolite to let those go in these parts, so couldn't resist.International. Blame Swype's autocorrect...![]()
Cape Town – Touring England cricketer Chris Woakes says AB de Villiers seemed more like the captain of South Africa than then-incumbent Hashim Amla did during the first Test in Durban recently.
