New driving licence card disaster in South Africa

The Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse (Outa) CEO Wayne Duvenage says he believes enough evidence has been presented to nullify South Africa's awarding of the driver's licence card account to Idemia.

This would delay the procurement of new driver's licence card printers for South Africa.

I know where OUTA wants to go with this, but in the name of stopping dodgy contracts - which, newsflash! they'll never do - because there's always going to be corruption, we're now suffering...

Yes, no, taking tenders from the mouths of cadres are unthinkable if not unconstitutional.

And put them where? Will Govt suddenly allow Oranja to run the tenders for drivers license? No. Its going to land up at Govt either way, and someone is going to benefit either way, except now - we don't get new drivers license cards.

100% correct and they will still benefit from fines you will get for driving without a valid drivers' license card, so it is a win win all around.

ahhhh the old "why bother fighting anything" approach. It worked out so well in the Zuma era that we are still fighting the spooks it created....

I see you are lusting after another Butternut-laiden-affair.

Are they at least still printing new and renewed licenses? Because when I renewed my license last August, they said from 1 Oct 2024 they would be printing using the new printers. So, are they still using the old printer or will people have to wait a year or more to get their licenses now?

They should really consider getting someone else to take the whole drivers' card issue to the Con Court to do away with it permanently. We do not need drivers' license cards at all. Not even for testing eye sight or anything else. This is purely to enrich cronies and BEE beneficiaries and is unconstitutional. If they want eyes tested on a regular basis, they should request people to submit an eye test every 5 years instead.

what are you? coloured-phobic? bro is just aging well, massekind!

besides, I'm more worried that there is a "Lisence no:" on his "DRIVER LICENSE"
One of my many, many pet peeves, this.

Licence. Noun.
License. Verb.

You are licensed to carry a licence.

You are advised by being given sound advice.

It's good practice to practise something until you're good at it.

Too many ****wits need to get a refund on their education. It stinks.

To settle this fight, you are both right and wrong.

It depends on whether you are speaking US English or British English.
