Well, after 2 months, I am still waiting to be upgraded to 512k. And now my telephone is on the fritz again. I have just about had enough.. I am moving to iBurst with a 3G package. The costs will be the same pm (excluding cost of UTD) on iBurst compared to my current mthly Telkom 312k package and with iBurst I used to get around 800k with a UTC with no extra antenna. A UTD with external antenna should be just sweet.

With the lightning season moving up as well, I think it would be better for my nerves as well since my telkom line gets killed at least annually from lightning.

/Just had to let off steam - thanks

I was with iBurst for close to 20 months. Never again. The support is more than just useless. Then after the useless service there is still the matter of the accounts department. Every month is an issue. Ask for a statement - I have never seen something like that in my life. The balance col junk.

From recent posts on the forum their service seems to have improved. I was with them for 6 months and did not have a problem - the only thing that grated me was the late deductions off my cr card.

You are right....

The thing is you get these types of people at Telkom to.

So the way I look at it is you are never going to win in SA.

9 out of 10 times you get bad service....

adsl3g:
Just remember if you cancel ADSL and then you are not happy with 3G/Iburst you are going to wait a long time to get ADSL again! but then again it might be quicker if you cancel and sign up again to get your 512k connection.

PROMO: I am the 1 out of 10, always giving good service! :p

hahahaahahha this is absolutely hilarous, Iburst users bitching about iburst and switching to Adsl... stating better latency and what not... now you come over to adsl you bitch about how *** adsl is and you switching back... this country is such a shocker! wtf is wrong with these damn inet providers :(

telkom dont care if you cancel remember that

Thanks Gangstarr - I did order it again and got a new ref no. The guy this time sounded more promising and also did a test of my line and he confirmed that the line is fine and can handle the max. He said 3 - 4 days and I must phone them if its not done. So will hang in there till next week and if not done will get back to you

if i'm you i'll stay as far away as possible from iburst, i have never been a client of theirs but found that they billed me for services 3 months in a row and after fighting i get my monies reimbursed with cost they still continue sending me an invoice and the other day had a message on my answering machine advising me they going to suspend my "services".
I'll rather stick to the Devil i know than the Devil i don't.

Aaah OK, I have been upgraded - 24 hrs. So, looks as if I'm hanging in there with ADSL a while longer - pity about the bad reports about iBurst - you guys swung my decision.
