I am running my standard Hauwei HSDPA card through a generic PCMCIA slot on my desktop pc. I did not install any drivers for it, XP sp2 picked it up auto.

Now most times when I surf the following message comes up after a while :

"Generic Host for Win32 service has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience"

I cannot disconnect here after, and the internet does not respond. I cannot go 'end task' either. The only option is to restart and reconnect.

Anyone seen this, got advice?

Please find where this event occurred in Event Viewer and post as much detail as possible.

Have you been to Windows Update and installed all the post-SP2 security updates?
