Two ways to escape South Africa's high petrol prices

South African motorists concerned over high fuel prices in the country can buy an electric vehicle (EV) or opt to have their car converted to run on liquid petroleum gas (LPG) to escape these fees,

While LPG conversions carry additional kit and installation costs, they offer significant savings over petrol or diesel-powered cars down the line, with inland LPG prices averaging between R12 and R13 per litre.

You are damned if you do and damned if you don't

So why dont car manufacturers make lpg as standard if the savings are so big? My guess is there is a reason they stick to fuel or diesel

Just drive smaller, more fuel efficient cars and not those gas guzzling 4x4 double cabs and monster SUVs to deliver your kids to school. Side walk climbing is the only advantage they have, and more than 90% will never go into the bundus. The same goes for those mammoth, overpriced luxury sedans.
:p

I wonder what insurance companies have to say about having your car converted to LPG....also what does it do to your warranty on newish cars that still has one?
