Eskom’s load shedding plans for Friday

Word on the street is it will be a loadshedding free weekend

Hopefully, their forecasts at the press conference was that the highest risk days left in December were yesterday and today. If they can keep us going today, they'll make it into the industry shutdown period and we might enjoy a hot meal on Christmas Day.

I expect the worst, but hope for the best. This way I am seldom disappointed.

I must say, just as I bought a Gas Stove, Paraffin Lamps and Candles, the power grid seems to have stabilised. I really wanted to test drive my "Revolution/Walking-Dead" survival kit... :(

Stage one allows for up to 1000MW of the national load to be shed, stage two for up to 2000MW, and stage three for up to 4000MW.

ai,telling us again

but anyways,hope it stays up

What exactly changed since last weekend's stage 3B loadshedding ?

from a 3000-4000MW shortage, to no shortage ?

This is what I also want to know.
On Wednesday Eskom were indicating that there will be Stage 1 shedding on Thursday and definitely on Friday.

Suddenly there are no shedding, possibly not even on the weekend?

Either some additional power stations came back on line or they were trying to scare SA into a higher than normal price rise or the new "War room" are doing some damage limitation.

Holidays start today for most industries so for the coming two weeks we will be ok.

I bought 2 new LED lanterns and a battery operated LED bulb for my lights. Suppose I could trip my mains and pretend in order to test them

An oxymoron (plural oxymora or oxymorons) is a figure of speech that juxtaposes elements that appear to be contradictory. Oxymora appear in a variety of contexts, including inadvertent errors (such as "ground pilot") and literary oxymorons crafted to reveal a paradox.

Remember that forecasts do change as they're dependent on a lot of factors.
