South Africans are largely dismissive of our government at this point. We literally have private companies filling in for everything government is meant to provide. Its only a matter of time before Eskom is regarded as obsolete because we buy power from private companies too.
Just South Africa doing it's part to bring in the futuristic dystopia we always see in movies like Blade Runner, where companies run everything and government doesn't exist anymore.

It has been +- 15 years with the energy crisis. They probably will not address load shedding anytime soon. Isn't Eskom also receiving bail out money from the state?

Also, it is pretty strange that the Western Cape Government is not ahead of the curve on this one. From a legal perspective, could the provinces not have come up with their own energy supply plans?
It is ahead of the curve. They have been fighting this fight for a while now.

The fact that Eskom is promising to suddenly end load shedding shows that they are lying.
We all know that it is not possible with their current work force.
Even if they magically replaced everyone with the best possible person, it would still take months to get close to stable.
