Eskom announces alternating stage 1 / stage 3 power cuts, with a weekend warning (17 July 2023)

What possible reason is there to only do it from 5am when pressure on the grid increases and not from midnight.
Seems the 5am was chosen to enforce some form of "consistency" rather than any real underlying technical reasons.

Probably a update script with defined thresholds. So easier to do it from set time than random.

Eskom wants to treat South Africans as if we are toddlers. There is nothing more insulting than that.

Eskom here is a revelation for you,
How about you monitor regulate and control your spending?
How about you identify and prosecute those that commit fraud?
How about you actually get people that can fix stuff and pay them fairly?
How about you wake the **** up and realize WE ARE PAYING FOR THE POWER YOU CAN'T PROVIDE?
It is illegal to sell a product that you can't deliver. What is the point to buy prepaid power IF YOU CANNOT PROVIDE IT?

According to @rvZA we are in the middle of a civil war. No power or water !! And you need at least R30 million in a savings account to retire.

That sounds about right, most of us need medication we can't afford, these individuals eat money while the rest of us can die, and our entire infrastructure is going to hell. I know I am not literate but even I know we actually need a functional country. What good is all that money if it is worthless?

Don't think it will be as cold as the last one though. We should definitely stress test them on Thursday and Friday though and see if the units break again.
