Eskom announces stage 2 load-shedding

There isn't a conspiracy there, there is not enough power for demand. How hard is this to comprehend? Or do you not realise you're living in Africa and that most of it is a shytehole? I am guessing you live in the WC and don't realise how bad the rest of SA is.
only recently moved to the WC, previously (currently) a vallie and I remember how bad it is, especially in a High priority zone next to a Hospital,
yes africa is a shytehole, 1000000% agree, but again something doesn't add up, as its impossible for there to be adequate reserves and then almost as if by magic no reserves. and then back again,

like how is it possible for us to one min have more than enough power, enough for them to BOAST about LS being over,
and then next min, Load shedding back baby, how does this work? unless there is more to the story that people fail to agree on.

Jet Fighter is one of those open minded conspiracy theorists who can't be swayed from their beliefs in the things they choose to believe. He's ignored every piece of data and evidence because he wants to believe like he X Files.

You mean that World Cup weekend where they pushed foot flat on diesel burn and recklessly ran the power stations into the ground leading shortly afterwards to a significant collapse?

I remember that. Not sure you do though.
again, engineered, to avoid embarrassment on the world stage, they burned diesel like a American Car guzzels Fuel,
and then back again, not all of it is explained easily with graphs and how and why and so on.

It's insanely reckless short-term thinking.

I agree there are times they almost seem to magically "fix" the loadshedding issue. However it's never for more than a few days and it always comes with significant consequences afterwards. (generating units detonating under the extreme load etc.). They clearly stress the system beyond what it should reliably be run at just to score political points.

The idea that loadshedding is being faked is so out there it's laughable.
Yup, I mean they literally live in South Africa and they somehow think Load shedding is fake? We have JHB Water restricting users not because they use too much, but because JHB water hasn't done any maintenance in 31 years. We have Rand Water restricting JHB water cause JHB water hasn't done any maintenance in 31 years. Plus on top of that neither has Rand Water who have 1 pumping station to cover 70% of Johannesburg, 20% of Krugersdorp and various other areas, so when it goes out there is vast areas without water.
Than you've got City Power who've not maintained in 31 years also constantly going out fixing things that if they had done maintenance wouldn't have caused issues.
Just go out and see what national and provincial roads look like outside of CPT, what is a street light, those mythical poles that once gave light? Naaah it's for free copper.
We're living in Africa, maintenance is a scary word when the money can be used for BMWs.

why shouldnt I? dude risked his life to reveal all,
if edward snowden had written a book about the inner workings of the NSA and CIA Id follow every recommendation
Yeah "risked" his life...

Broken infrastructure, no maintenance for 30 years... There is the reason

Yeah "risked" his life...
from a daily investor article,

The former Eskom CEO said that government officials were deeply involved in corrupt activities at Eskom.

up to a point, I bet you a nation as poor as say Nepal with equally as broken infrastructure still manages to avoid load shedding,
strike that, Ukraine, a country actively at war, still has electricity,

load shedding is the exception, not the rule, dearest Lupus, I don't know why that seems foreign to you.
countries only go into load shedding in extreme circimstances, and only for an extreamly short time, here, its just normalized, its just how Africa is, nothing to see here folks, just our daily power cut.

only other place I can imagine it happens, is sadly Pyongyang on the DPRK (North Korea) and only when the tourists aren't visiting
they load shed frequently, but the people have gotten so used to it, that its considered normal, just Kim jong un switching on his hot tub.

LOL, you're not an objective questioner. You only believe stuff that confirms your prejudices.

You are aware South Africa isn't the only country that has load shedding right?
And funnily enough guess who had loadshedding recently... Nepal

maybe, or maybe I dont ask the right questions, as im still breathing,
if Id asked the right questions the black bag would be on my head right now.
You have been given data and objective answers to the question at hand and yet you read it and still decide there must be some dark forces at play even when the evidence says otherwise. What do you call that?

yes, and its for a short term thing, even in poor Nepal,
South africa is trying desperately , pleadingly to just accept it, this is a daily fact of life now, you have to plan around it and always be ready for LS to come at a moments notice,
even if they BOAST of how they avoided Load shedding for an entire year!

something isn't right with this, and I'm not the only one questioning it.

The Ukraine he mentions has had power cuts which are obviously understandable when their infrastructure is being attacked. Our problems are thanks to ANC mismanagement of Eskom and the corruption and crime that come when you allow a culture of no accountability to fester unchecked.

a questioning mind, even if I doubt the accuracy of the so called objective data,
could it be I'm wrong, and dearest Lupus can somehow predict load shedding more accurately than Eskom official statements,

possible, but I still maintain, load shedding is not normal, never was, should NEVER be justified and accepted,
people need to answer for it, down to the guy cleaning the floors at the power station, as electricity is not a luxury, its a necessity.

up to a point I accept the explanation its old and tired, up to a point I accept its broken down and unmaintained and falling apart,

but I do also maintain that in a pinch this same exact system can work optimally like Switzerland when they want it to.

and Pakistan which is load shedding right now and has been since 2001?

but right next door India, thats also poor and underdeveloped and plenty of infrastructure that is broken and unmaintained,
some parts of Mumbai and Delhi look like Diepsloot on a good day,

no load shedding, or at least not constantly all the time like SA,
