Eskom announces stage 2 load-shedding

You have been given data and objective answers to the question at hand and yet you read it and still decide there must be some dark forces at play even when the evidence says otherwise. What do you call that?

only recently moved to the WC, previously (currently) a vallie and I remember how bad it is, especially in a High priority zone next to a Hospital,
yes africa is a shytehole, 1000000% agree, but again something doesn't add up, as its impossible for there to be adequate reserves and then almost as if by magic no reserves. and then back again,

like how is it possible for us to one min have more than enough power, enough for them to BOAST about LS being over,
and then next min, Load shedding back baby, how does this work? unless there is more to the story that people fail to agree on.
Why is it impossible?

They can burn diesel faster than their logistics network can get the diesel to the OCGTs and faster than they can afford to purchase it.

So they build up reserves of diesel over a few days. Then when they want to make everything look a little less bleak they BURN at a rate of knots. They can do that for a few days and reduce maybe 2-3 stages of LS, then they run out of diesel reserves. So they stop burning. Loadshedding stages increase because there's no more generation from the OCGTs to stave off the extra stages. Then after a few days of more diesel importing they have enough reserves to start burning like mad again and the cycle repeats.

This isn't hard to understand. You can see it in the way they operate.

but right next door India, thats also poor and underdeveloped and plenty of infrastructure that is broken and unmaintained,
some parts of Mumbai and Delhi look like Diepsloot on a good day,

no load shedding, or at least not constantly all the time like SA,
Who also have load shedding on and off since 2002 or so. Do you wanna keep playing this game? Or do you just accept that we are in this boat cause of the same reasons, not enough infrastructure for the demand.
I mean hell in Africa South Africa is the largest producer of electricity, in fact it is pretty much 53 of the countries power supplies rolled into one. The next largest is Egypt and that also experienced a lot of load shedding. I was on a call to an Egyptian colleague who was like sorry if I disconnect we're load shedding. I was like hey same.

so here is the conspiracy part, even when they claim they aren't using diesel at huge rates, they actually are,
and simply misreporting it, I know, I know, Bigfoot told them to,

but seriously though, why dd they feel confident to BOAST then, if I was Eskom Id keep my Gigantic trap shut ALL the time as we know they are a failure,

Boasting we conquered load shedding is a mistake, especially with what we know, or claim to know.

so why do it? unless again as I keep claiming, they can magically get reserves and not get reserves almost as quickly.
AKA engineered load shedding.

I mean it isnt hard to do, with a bit of co-ordination, if thats what your goal is,
that we know it is.

a few well placed individuals co-ordianting on whatsapp with colleagues in other power stations, can claim maintenance outages,
even cause them deliberately

I know it sounds like my tin foil hat is speaking, but what if the explosion at medupi, was due to them trying to co-ordinate things with colleagues, and things went awry?

or another one, when we briefly went to stage 6, because somebody KNEW where to chop down a Pylon to a power station,

from a daily investor article,
We all understand there's corruption at Eskom. Dodgy deals, poorly done fixes cutting corners but charging the price of a proper fix, the whole 9 yards. It's all contributing to the LS problem. The ultimate consequence remains a broken generation fleet that cannot meet demand, not politicians actively pushing some big button that turns lights off in your suburb despite there being plenty of supply like the weird scenario you assert.

Dear Jet fighter, when they said they weren't burning diesel at a rate of knots they weren't. But you see this thing called time happens, it moves on and since then they have been burning it due to higher maintenance. You keep going back to something they said 6/8 months ago, it's like you forget things change.
You live in Africa... Just understand you live in Africa where the government is useless, what makes you think Eskom is any better? You seem to be thinking the government is more intelligent than they are, this isn't the US, this isn't the UK. If we had a CIA or Mi5 the world would know all our secrets in 30 seconds as it would be sold off quicker than you can zip your fly.

Ah you see when I say it's nippy, it's well when you can see... Nvm gotta be clean

Really, so what event does this loadshedding co-incide with? Please explain in detail how broken power stations that are nearing 50 years old are somehow linked to these events? Also please explain what event 2022 and 2023 was seeing as those were the years of extreme load shedding.
I mean literally have 300 days of no LS and when it comes back people lose their minds, there is no conspiracy, the events are simple, the power stations are old, they're busy moving Kusile units on to the new flue so that is generation we had last year removed, Koeberg unit 1 is still not up and running and Medupi unit 4 isn't on the grid either.
There is your events, there is not enough power for the demand, same as it always is. Not sure how hard this is to comprehend?
What has any other event got to do with Eskom cutting power I have no idea.
Are the 50 year old power stations in America also broken?

from a daily investor article,
See? You still buy into the gospel according to de Regter. That one turned out to be an competent charlatan yet you still buy into his musings? His life was never at risk. He stated some obviouses but failed to produce any real evidence even after he ran off to Germany

so here is the conspiracy part, even when they claim they aren't using diesel at huge rates, they actually are,

Except their balance sheet proves they're not burning diesel like they were before.

They have the odd slip here and there (we're into one of those slips now) but compared to previous years it's not even close to the same league.

but seriously though, why dd they feel confident to BOAST then, if I was Eskom Id keep my Gigantic trap shut ALL the time as we know they are a failure,

so why do it?
because they're incompetent. I mean... come on... you're shocked that the ANC can do something stupid? You been living under a rock?

They have ribbon-cutting ceremonies for outhouses... you think they're not going to celebrate when they go 30min without cutting the power somewhere?

unless again as I keep claiming, they can magically get reserves and not get reserves almost as quickly.
AKA engineered load shedding.
Except evidence suggests they can't do that. Instead we see a consistent historical pattern of being able to burn full throttle for 3-4 days at a time before needing to stop. That doesn't change.

I mean it isnt hard to do, with a bit of co-ordination, if thats what your goal is,
that we know it is.
Is that their goal? ANC nearly lost the last election because of loadshedding. They now have to sit in a coalition they clearly hate being in. Was that their goal? Seems like a truly dumb goal to me.

I'd like to see what the average Nepalese power station looks like inside. I wonder if it's all as poorly maintained as Eskom's stations are.
They are mostly hydro and other renewables, plus gas, biomass and fuel, don't think they have coal plants
