Pretty sure it was scheduled at stage 3 during the day and stage 4 at peaks the entire week. Not sure where people are getting this as a stage change...
Yeah who knows I mean it was stage 3/4 now it's still stage 3/4
Nope just double checked they originally said stage 3 from 5am to 4pm Friday think that was an error, as city power had it as stage 3/4

Eskom implemented stage 4 instead of stage 3 load-shedding at 16:00 on Thursday, 7 December 2023, without notifying the public or the media beforehand.

In a statement on X and a WhatsApp media group message sent at 18:25, the utility confirmed it implemented the higher stage of load-shedding about two and a half hours earlier.
I hate voucuing for them but they did send a warning out via the loadshedding app, saying therenis a very high possibility of moving to stage 4. Look at the X msgs, it was there appox 15h53 more or less. I sent msg to hubby immediately.

What loadshedding app? They don't have a loadshedding app

So now third parties (i.e. the loadshedding apps) must be the ones making announcements on behalf of Eskom? That's not acceptable. It's kind of the owners of the loadshedding apps, but the responsibility is with Eskom.

I was told a while back that, a few years ago it worked like that in Nigeria... so what's new, we're just going down to the same level as the rest of Africa.
