Eskom board chair says they will take "appropriate and reasonable" steps against De Ruyter

If they just spent 5% of that effort focused in the right direction (themselves) we'd probably resolve most of SAs issues. But the pigs are gonna pig I guess

I want to point out "what about the guptas and the other corrupt people/cadres" that gordan says is also stealing from eskom, but then someone is going to complain about whataboutism.

Yes here comes the "We are guilty, but we want you to be kept responsible" part.
Typical of the criminals in the ANC, shift the focus so they can continue stealing, but never admit to being guilty.

If there ever was a case for the "public interest" defence this has the be pretty high up there. I don't see this being much more than noise from the dodgy crew.

How's that posed photo of him trying to look intelligent?

In the next frame both fingers are up his nose.

Let's revisit this in 5 years. If AdR is wrong, then it is good that he is out and now the ANC has the chance to fix the problem.

But my guess is that the ANC will prove AdR right and that load shedding will be worse in 5 years than it is now. Wonder what excuse they will have then. Donald Trump maybe? Or maybe the power plants contracted Covid19

It will of course be better in 5 years time, some municipalities generation would be up by then, new generation from IPPs will be up and running, demand would be slightly lower due to all the businesses and residents installing solar.
Eskom would also had some time to make progress on their side.

I think it's not the best metric to prove of De Ruyter is right or wrong, it might just leave you in a slight spot of bother.

It will be better because the country would be de-industrialised by then and we will only be using 5000MW.

The investors are confident in the leadership of the land to find solutions to our challenges.

Don't you mean investor (singular)? Anyway, what choice does a south african company have other than to find solutions (which is not getting power from eskom anymore)?

The Americans are also going nowhere last time I checked no matter how much our friendship with the Russians annoy them, so yes, investors.

De beers are owned by a London listed entity. If Europe sanction us then they'll sell and go. Most of their diamonds no longer come from this country anyway.

Sanctions are luckily very unlikely. The Russia thing is just the ANC. Russia is an insignificant trade partner but the ANC are a bunch of irrational AHs so they'll always look out for the ANC. I suspect Russia will be getting the nuclear deal when it opens up for bids next year.

Of the 2GW promised by the RMIPPPP emergency programme tenders awarded 2 years ago, not one single watt has come on line. In fact we still fight with more than half of the promised capacity in the power ships fiasco.

I worked a year on the programme and trust me, this government is absolutely clueless.

I was thinking more along the lines of our collapsing power generation.

Yeah, everything always state it would be up and running in two years, I have registered my frustration about that previously, but I do believe something would have happened in the next 5 years.

What gives you that idea?
