Eskom gives up trying to predict when it will lift load-shedding

Eskom chief generation officer Phillip Dukashe said that, in the best-case scenario, they could suspend load-shedding on Friday, 22 April 2022.

This is the first time in years the power utility has avoided giving an estimated time by which load-shedding would end.

Current outages total 20,446MW, of which 5,124MW is due to planned maintenance.

Its not possible for this to be random breakdowns regardless of 'aging', basic math shows that 100% of capacity breaks down every 4-6weeks, thats a problem, and not a equipment related... even a half arsed maintenance job would keep 100y/o equipment more reliable than this... You need to investigate all the tenderers... more **** broken down, more monies for them for parts etc, and the fuel tenderer hairdressers, more break downs, more fuel is burned, more monies for them... pull your fingers out your arses, open your ****ing eyes to the corruption and sabotage happening in front of them

Loadshedding will regretfully be implemented from 16:00 this afternoon until 05:00 on Wednesday, 20 April, due to additional generation unit losses and delayed return to service of generators

Load-shedding update — when Eskom plans to suspend Stage 4

Eskom has announced that load-shedding will continue until 05:00 on Friday, 22 April 2022.

Stage 4 rotational power cuts are currently in effect, and the power utility said it would adjust load-shedding stages depending on the breakdowns that occur during the week.

Oh gees, I see it now!! Damn, I hired a generator for my business thinking it was stage 4 till Sunday. The more severe the load shedding, the more cost effective renting becomes... oh well...
