This is probably how the end begins, not with a big blackout like everyone expects but with longer and more undefined outages until it just doesn't come back on for > a month.

Source: experience.. in my area for example today was the 1st loadshedding in 3 where the substation didn't immediately trip & leave us in the dark for > 8 hours. I'd say TIA but then again who doesn't know that already?

But the ANC wants this, the thought of total control over infrastructure & facilities gets them wet, and not wet as in the good way..

I don't think selling VPN or Capitec products is going to help them...
Samsung Remotes do well I hear..:sneaky:

Seems to be how most stabs are taken in SA these days.

What a failure. Seems that the "racists" were bang-on with their predictions on how these clowns would send this country down the drain.
Imagine if big brain moment... the real hate and spite they could instead inflict if they actually prove them wrong and make the country bigger and better than it has ever been?

Tomorrow we give you a company that's:

1) Riddled with corruption
2) Bloated with employees that don't know how to do their job but you can't fire the bad ones because the unions won't let you
3) Not making enough money to sustain itself
4) Had previous managers who ran the equipment into the ground
5) And you have a boss that refuses to change the rules to allow you to save the company

Let's see how well you do.

I hate load shedding as much as the rest, but I'm not going to pretend that De Ruyter is the one at fault.
Ahhhhh. There are still some of you left.

It's funny how some people see common sense as "being a fanboi". Here's just one example of what De Ruyter would like to do, but CAN'T because govt is in the way.

What's within his control is to find the culprits responsible for theft and sabotage, and recover the funds and have them prosecuted.

At least get the company functional again to be able to tackle all the burning issues without any rotten eggs in the ranks.

Yes it's a big task, but we haven't seen any of this in the past 2 years. Something/anything to show that the tide is turning. Just lip service about stuff we already know...

Holy crap. It's like people aren't even paying attention. This is what 5 minutes on the internet turned up (there are definitely more arrests):

Regarding prosecutions? That's not Eskom's turf, and good luck with the NPA being what it is right now.
