Paul O'Sullivan talks about people from Eskom he's had arrested here.

What's within his control is to find the culprits responsible for theft and sabotage, and recover the funds and have them prosecuted.

At least get the company functional again to be able to tackle all the burning issues without any rotten eggs in the ranks.

Yes it's a big task, but we haven't seen any of this in the past 2 years. Something/anything to show that the tide is turning. Just lip service about stuff we already know...
A captain can do his best, but if his crew are hellbent on sinking the ship, his actions will ultimately be futile.

I honestly don't know why de Ruyter took the position. It's really a hopeless situation. If the Zuma/Guptas patronage networks and unions stayed out of the picture there may have been a chance to right the sinking ship but not with their constant interference.

Really cool when the Captain keeps drawing millions in salary and benefits though. Such integrity.

Holy crap. It's like people aren't even paying attention. This is what 5 minutes on the internet turned up (there are definitely more arrests):

Regarding prosecutions? That's not Eskom's turf, and good luck with the NPA being what it is right now.
Bla bla bla... yet still stage 4 load shedding and ****all sign of improvement and still far above inflation yearly increases.

Probably for similar reasons as some of the others before him, also the money doesn't hurt.

Lol. Blah blah blah to try and avoid looking like someone who speaks before they think. And no ****. Have you seen the criminal organisation running the country?

The same reason people like Paul O'Sullivan are still fighting against criminals. They are trying to fix things.
