Eskom Bitcoin mining plans

Eskom Group CEO Dan Marokane says South Africa’s state-owned power utility is looking into opportunities to support Bitcoin mining, artificial intelligence, and data centres for its future growth.

Speaking at the BizNews Conference earlier this year, Marokane said data centres and Bitcoin mining were fuelling the demand for electricity in the United States.

Bitcoin mining = ANC Cadres are rewarded with tenders and dont deliver
artificial intelligence = ANC Cadres are rewarded with tenders and dont deliver

Dan, how about you guys focus on your core operational requirement... provide power.

You don't need to do anything else, just that, and do it at a reasonable price.
Cost price (not BEE 3-5x inflated cost), power generation is not for profit.

these idiots can barely spell Ai now want to implement it?

first stop load shedding like forever, then we can talk about all the other things in the to do list, like broken billing,
vandalism, intimidation criminality, transparency and eventually when we have fixed 100 things before that,

we get to Ai and other 1st world things,

for now, deal with the 3rd world problems like mafias and criminals in your ranks, deal with people knowing exactly where to chop a pylon down to bring us to stage 6,
simple things like that.
