Eskom will implement permanent load-shedding in South Africa for the next two years, the energy provider has conf
Well you can ignore anything the ANC says. It's either a thumb suck, a lie or a combination of the 2. As for Eskom. It's guess work at best. Why does one say 6 months to a year and another says 2 years
They had to do this there was no way around it they need permanent stage X to resolve this issue. I just hope they really are trying to resolve the issue and not doing other things.
No, stage 2 after 2 year.
He's stepping down end of March.
Is de Ruyter back at Eskom???? This article (posted 2 hours ago) says:
Eskom CEO Andre de Ruyter added that while there has been much speculation about stage 8 load-shedding, this is no longer a likely scenario.

True true lets see when winter strikes what will happen. We have been in that state for a few months now this just makes it official.
That's a natural reaction of a loving parent. Don't worry, I am sure you will still be "in her head" when she's faced with tough choices. By that I mean she would probably have your voice in her head as she replays your probable input in those circumstances.Weeping my heart out today, my daughter's emigrating to UK in March.
EDIT: want the best for her but very sad for me![]()
He only leaves in March.

It was temporary in this situation, but yeah I've stayed on some islands where they only have power for a few hours permanently, there is that really nice one just off Koh Chang that I can't quite remember the name of. On Samui they warned us that the island's power consumption was excessive and then bam, everything went off. Luckily it only lasted around 2 months until most power was completely restored. Had a friend who got into a motorbike accident as the power went off and ended up in hospital, so I would visit him often to get a blast of airconditioningI believe that was the permanent situation, not due to any utility issues?
There still are many areas in Thailand (especially the islands and coastal areas) where there are resorts with only a few hours of electricity a day.
EDIT: It probably also made you understand how important battery powered fans are![]()
Are you lying? No, stage 2 after 2 year.
What new CEO?I think the new CEO will rock up there and say de Ruyter is an idiot and we will have lights again
Damn, that heat with no fan and aircon. That's why I wouldn't do Thailand on a backpacker's budget. Air-conditioning is not a luxuryIt was temporary in this situation, but yeah I've stayed on some islands where they only have power for a few hours permanently, there is that really nice one just off Koh Chang that I can't quite remember the name of. I wasn't able to get a battery-powered fan or anything to help as everything sold out almost instantly as people rushed to the stores. Sleeping in the tropical heat was the worst part of it all as you couldn't open your doors or windows without being carried away by mozzies. But I have some fond memories of the time.
