Breaking News: France has different Nuclear Regulations than South Africa!

I love jumping on the hate Eskom bandwagon as much as the next "Energy Expert", but saying they are not doing critical upgrades based on new French regulations for nuclear power stations in France, that were never part of any sort of local South African safety upgrade plan, is idiotic.

These upgrades look like major infrastructure changes, not something you just do as an aside while performing regular maintenance.

He's not even an energy expert

Wobble wobble. Blubber blubber the world is going to end, said Patrick Starfish...
That's about as accurate as the above would be

Nuclear power stations have a universal maintenance schedule that is more or less similar, no? I'm sure there are some small changes here and there based on size and stuff but the core maintenance is probably the same.

Would be fun to check if any of the ministers etc are investing heavily into Iodine tablet production...

Why the **** are we listening to this ****. Let him go and take pictures

SA has its own Nuclear Safety Council that will not allow any unsafe operation at Koeberg Why dont you ask them they are real experts in the nuclear safety fields

I dislike that whenever I read anything negative on Koeberg I've always got to be concerned that the author might be one of these irrational anti-nuclear "environmentalists". This looks like a prime example of that phenomenon.

I really don't understand the objection to nuclear on environmental grounds.

Nuclear Stations around the world are run by technicians and engineers from abroad since the Chornobyl oopsie. If our own people ran the safety procedures and maintenance we would have had a big boom by now.
Same as the Cable Car, I think it is a Swiss company that performs its annual servicing
