Big warning for solar power users in South Africa

Eskom says that all grid-tied solar power systems connected to its network that are not registered with the power utility are "illegal", even if they are not feeding electricity back into the grid.

In addition, the power utility regards the typical certificate of compliance (CoC) that qualified electricians often issue to declare a solar power installation safe and compliant as insufficient.

Hey Eskom

Thats nice Eskom, you can't summarily declare something illegal.

You might not like it, but thats a different story and honestly I don't think anyone gives a fsck what you like or don't like after you've fscked this country for years.

If you stay tied to Eskom's apron strings expect to be screwed hard and fast by the scum running the country (into the ground) get off grid and learn to liver on what you have, Eskom is welcome to remove their wires and boxes any time they like, I will not pay for compliance and I won't be using their electricity even as a back up.

Thuggish. Now they're simply reverting to mafia intimidation tactics and extortion. Once again it must be said... After people were encouraged to get solar by government and by Eskom to use less power and get solar. When the going was tough for Eskom. When they were destroying the country's economy, because they were failing in their mandate. Where's the government protecting the people of SA from this organized crime?

"Public company"?.. please. Organized crime racketeers.

Edit: Let me be clear though. I'm all for compliance. But it seems to me like this is more about making money and discouraging solar adoption. Objectives, which to me are not in the interest of the people of SA. i.e. The country. And as such constitutes a publicly owned company effectively sabotaging public prosperity.

You're looking in the wrong place. People like Musk want to be the state.

How did he put it again?

high T alpha males and aneurotypical people" are able to question new information, concluding, "This is why a Republic of high status males is best for decision making. Democratic, but a democracy only for those who are free to think.

So in his book only people who are functioning autistic and have a lot of Testosterone, oh... and are of course wealthy, should vote. Coincidentally... People like him. Or at least how he sees himself. The rest should just do what they are told. Are not even considered free to think. Fundamentally classist and authoritarian. i.e. >99% of people will effectively be de facto property. So you can fully expect Musk's preferred style of government, where he would be powerful of course thanks simply for falling into a category of his choice, which he believes he falls into, to be chock full of rules just like this. And more. And worse.
