You're including the service fees as part of the kWh price calculation, which they aren't. If you use 0 kWh you're still going to pay 700+ odd whatever it is. So in reality you're paying 300R for the 93kwh so around R3.22. I think that's what he most likely means by your maths.

The Moneyweb article gives details of the logic of including the service fee and the table highlights that CoJ has high service fees. The effect is to only get 93kWh for R1000.

You have to include the service fees in the calculation of kWh.

when those that actually paid for electricity stop paying (because they are off grid) eskom and the municipalities will raise the network availability charges (paid whether you use actual electricity or not) untill their salaries and 3 other to do the same job are paid.
Eskom will have completely failed long before that time.

Just look at how much Re Ruyter has done in terms of servicing debt in comparison to previous BEE CEO's.
How does that help us? He's the one pushing for these increases. And we all know that once it goes up and the debt is clear, it's not coming down again.

His interests are to his shareholder, i.e. government and their debt. Not to us...
