Yeah, I wonder what the kickback was. Must've been a decent amount.

I very much doubt. After the first time, the customer had all the power over her. At that point threatening to expose her would have been enough to keep it going. I'm absolutely speculating here - I don't know anything more about this case than what's in the article - but I've seen this sort of thing spiral out of control before.

LOL there's a homeless guy who walks around suburbia in Kabookie, he carries a clipboard and knocks on the doors of residential homes. When the owners open, he tells them that he is from the municipality and that he is there to read their water meters. He asks them to read it for him, and he "records" the number on his clipboard. He then offers to report a lesser number for a fee. Some actually fall for it :giggle:

The customers did not have any contact with her, she thought she had a good thing going.

She processed electricity meter readings on the billing system. The readings were captured by route contractors at customer sites on a hand-held device and forwarded to Wolmarans electronically.
