Sorry guys, last night I forgot to take the batteries out of the clock. I'll be sure to remove them on Friday night so that LS can stop on Saturday.

"We managed to supply the peak by running all 20 OCGTs"

This at a time with record-breaking oil prices.
Well done, aa en see.
This country is so utterly and completely f***ed.
My thoughts as well, should go well for their debt and pricing...

Well done Ramapoes, let that fat toad Gwede hold the economy hostage further, choo choo Karpowerships.

Imagine if we'd signed for the Karpowerships with huge gas power increases due to the conflict in Europe as well? That's even more horrifying that stage 2 load shedding and the massive shitstorm coming if petroleum prices double...

Does Eskom have any alternative or are there any in the pipeline? Again just asking.

Does Eskom? No, that's why they keep on saying new capacity needs to be brought online by IPPs.

Govt is trying to get more IPPs on board but ofc some of the deals are dicey AF.

He's not doing his job.

I will get a decades old car that's reaching the end of its life, drive it into the ground, and give it to a desperate delivery driver who doesn't have the time to maintain it. End result it will break down regularly.

This is exactly what's happened with Eskom, except it's made worse by corruption and theft within the organization. The only way for these people to "do their job" is to clear out the unnecessary and corrupt employees (difficult at best), and get extra capacity online so they can completely shut down the units for maintenance (also a pipe dream at the rate the ANC govt moves) as opposed to doing ad-hoc maintenance to keep things barely running.

The reality is that no individuals will be able to fix this while there's an ANC govt in charge.

It's been almost 2 years and nothing has changed besides more loadshedding.

Eskom was neglected and stripped for nearly 30 years, and you expect it getting fixed within months? You still believe in Christmas Father and the Easter Bunny?
It hasn't been months it's been years now

What do you expect? The ANC is still in charge. Ramaphoria fooled most people and so the ANC got another 5 years to stuff around.
Eskom is just a vehicle for them to steal more, like state capture, R200k brooms are just Estinas with fewer Guptas. The last okes who cared about power generation, capacity, maintenance & sustainability was forced out when they established their BEE flagship. Previous regime knew they needed a strong independent economy to survive in Africa, current lot just have to steal enough WMC. Same mentality permeates everywhere, from politicians to board members to workers. They carry away railway stations brick by brick since their ideology keeps them poor, ie. doesn't equip them to generate wealth, so they take it from wherever they can get it. Elite survives, rest suffers, it is the way..
