Eskom fires Solly Tshitangano as Chief Procurement Officer

Power utility Eskom has dismissed its Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) Solly Tshitangano for gross misconduct and breach of duties and responsibilities, among other charges.

This comes after Tshitangano was suspended and charged on several grounds of misconduct — including non-performance — in February 2021.

Following a disciplinary hearing on these charges, the chairman, an independent advocate, recommended dismissal as the only appropriate sanction.

Following his suspension in February, Tshitangano accused Eskom CEO Andre de Ruyter of racism and abuse of power.

When you as guilty as sin you can always pull the race card. I am really sick of these vile cretins and their BS at the expense of Joe public. Congrats cANCer you really did an excellent job at screwing up everything and making this country a total misery you bunch of inept pompous cretins.

Let us hope that Eskom starts a trend which sets the benchmark for how things should be done not how politicians want them done. Wouldn't that be a turnaround. SA could be a real powerhouse; jobs for everyone, a booming economy, great health care and education opportunities for everyone. It could be if these guys would just stop screwing around all the time with their fingers in the till.

For any leadership like the ANC to give the appearance that they are scrounging and scavenging and hustling every chance they get sets an incredibly bad example for everyone they are supposed to be leading. That beggar/poverty mentality will pollute everything and everyone.
That is very true, being the type that likes to give credit where it's due I will do just that, the current administration is doing very well in terms of appointing the right people to positions and allowing them the space to to get on with the job. The will always be a level of interference from government but so far it looks like the government understands its limits.

The likes of Tshitangano are the type who thrives in politics of patronage, cut that out and they become exposed, that's exactly what happened to him, he stood no chance on defending himself through the internal processes that pertains to his job, that's why he started to make this political and scream racism, because that's his turf. Unfortunately for him things have also changed in government and politics is no longer favoring him, in the good old days, De Ruyter would have been the one shown the door.

Die Regter should ideally have laid a charge for the false allegations of racism. It would warn off others like this corrupt incompetent. But that's probably beneath a CEO.
The racism investigation isn't yet done, I think as soon as that has been wrapped up, Solly's problems are going to start.

I say amen to that. :crying:

Parliamentary investigation? That's a waste of time and money. You can be sure it'll go off in various tangents as various agendas decide direction.

Exactly like debating a subject on MyBB.

That's what he looks like after being caught out. Here's the arrogant look you would have got while he was still doing deals on the job:
